What is BODYSonic?
BodySonic is the latest technology in non-surgical cosmetic procedures and is taking the market by storm. It uses safe ultrasound waves which target and reduce fat cells without affecting neighbouring tissue. Ultrasonic energy emitted by the probe in contact with your skin leads to a mild heating effect within the fatty layer of the skin. As a result, small vacuum bubbles are formed within this fatty layer. When these bubbles collapse, there is a cavitation effect which leads to a temporary change in the integrity of the fat cell walls. This allows fat to drain out of the cell which is then removed by the body’s lymphatic system. The effect on the cell wall may persist for some weeks but is not harmful, and the cells will recover fully.
The Treatment
Our treatment room is calm and quiet. You will receive one to one care from our qualified team and your privacy is fully respected. The treatment begins with the use of a water based cooling gel as with any ultrasound treatment. The hand piece is then applied to the area to be treated and moved around on the skin at a pressure comfortable to you. The treatment will last around 20 minutes and is not painful, though you will feel a warming effect and be aware of a subtle vibration during the course of treatment.
What results can I expect?
BODYSonic is particularly effective at removing fat found in areas
such as the abdomen, buttocks, thighs and upper arms. After just one
treatment it is possible to achieve a reduction in body circumference of
up to 3cm. A course of
treatment is recommended for optimum results, usually around 6 treatments will be required 1-2 weeks apart.
Are there any after effects?
The warm tingling feeling may continue after the treatment which is perfectly normal. This is the energy produced as the vacuum bubbles are bursting. Later, you will pass more urine than usual and your urine will appear different. This is the result of the presence of fat. It is important that you remember to drink water after the treatment to avoid dehydration.
